There will be lots of violence and excitement.  Unless of course you aren't actually any good in a fight, in which case you'll stay on the Normandy, I'll talk to you between missions, and we'll just pretend you came along and did some stuff when all you really do is hang out somewhere on the ship.  At least now you can occasionally move around and talk to some other people.
